The year of the wheel turns once again with the shortest day of the year and as it does so, it seems as if an internal switch has also been flicked on.
Maybe it’s the spirit of Christmas, peace and goodwill to all men, but I feel an inner contentment as we head once more towards the sun.
People from cultures the world over have celebrated the solstice since Neolithic times. Traditions, customs, rituals and ceremonies that have been passed down from generation to generation.
Many have lost their connection to these celebrations however for me it’s important to keep them alive in honour of Mother Earth and natures natural cycles as it creates a symbiotic relationship with our inner lives.
In respect of simplicity, as the day begins to draw to a close we will welcome the darkness before lighting candles and offering our blessings to the returning sun.
Solstice blessings to you x
