I’ve spend way too much of my life living in my head. Its a place crammed full of thoughts and sometimes crazy and indifferent ideas.
Our society likes to prioritise ideas, for example what’s deemed good or bad, right or wrong, true or false, what we should do and so on.
Lives and businesses are built around ideas.
Yet, it’s our feelings that actually provide our experience of life which is why people remember significant emotional experiences.
Feelings are our primary motivation for what we do, feelings are the reason we eat, sleep, work, think, read, talk and so on. Without feelings action of any kind would be pointless.
At the most basic level, we do things to make us feel better – think about that for a moment. We do.
We continuously move towards pleasure or away from pain. Or the ‘Pleasure Principle’ as Sigmund Freud termed it.
So why is this so important in business?
It’s simple, those you serve are also motivated by feelings and emotions. It’s why we connect with each other, why we resonate and why we buy services and products – to make us feel better!
Business is powered by feelings.
Yet many fail to prioritise those feelings.
You are like a magnet, attracting into your life the people, situations and circumstances that are in line with your most frequent thoughts.
I recommend that you don’t choose running a business simply to get rich, choose it because you want to change the world and create amazing things.
Take it from someone at the top.
